Dr. Chandrappa is a Consultant Psychiatrist with UK specialist training and consultant experience in NHS mental-health services and internationally.
After qualifying in medicine at the University of Mysore, he completed postgraduate psychiatric training in the UK, becoming a Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) and receiving a Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST) in General Adult Psychiatry and Substance Misuse (Addiction) Psychiatry.
As a consultant with Worcestershire Health & Care NHS Trust he worked across inpatient and community services, led the Trust's Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) service, and held Clinical Director roles in acute mental health and in substance misuse and prison mental-health services. He later worked as a Senior Consultant Psychiatrist in Consultation Liaison Psychiatry at Hamad Medical Corporation in Qatar, where he contributed to published research on addiction, mental-health services and healthcare-worker wellbeing.
His current clinical interests include general adult psychiatry, addiction, adult ADHD, autism-related mental-health needs, personality disorders, neuropsychiatry and neuromodulation, including rTMS.
